What's going on?

As Executive Director of LiveWire Chicago Theatre, I am gearing up for our upcoming production of the world premiere play "Hideous Progeny" by Emily Dendinger, which we will be presenting at the Chicago DCA Storefront Theater. In the spring, LiveWire produced the world premiere of an original play of mine, "Lower Debt," at the Viaduct. The company developed the piece under my direction as part of the Chicago DCA's INCUBATOR series last fall. Over the summer, I emceed our second annual new play festival, "VisionFest," along with directing one of the short pieces, "Recogntion" by Elizabeth Nell Dubus.

Projects on the horizon include an audio comic book series that I am developing with some folks over at Dog & Pony for their website's podcast, I have two full-length plays in the early stages (the first is a relationship drama that feels like an extention of my one-acts, "The Bout" and "A/other Lover," along with my work as director on Eric Bogosian's "Red Angel"... the other piece is an absurd comedy about how we royalize celebrity -- definitely in the vain of "Soldiers"), and the random short pieces keep coming, such as the adaptation I wrote, "The Ballad of Love and Hate" based on a song of the same name by the Avett Brothers.

WCProductions is in the process of evaluating making the jump to HD. We recently shot the film sequences for LiveWire's "Lower Debt" and have a trailer to make for "Hideous Progeny". There is talk of a silent feature along with new installments of the comedy series, "It's Madeline Long".
